The mechanism
How Does Lumecca IPL Work?
Lumecca directs controlled broad-spectrum light into the skin.
Depending on the target, that light is preferentially absorbed by:
Pigmentation
Melanin in selected pigmentation.
Vascular
Haemoglobin in selected vascular concerns.
The absorbed light converts into heat and produces a controlled response within the target.

Concerns
What Can Lumecca Treat?
Pigmentation
Sun spots, freckles, selected superficial pigmentation, photodamage.
Sun spots
UV-related surface brown marks responding to broad-spectrum light.
Redness
Diffuse facial redness and associated skin unevenness.
Vascular
Selected superficial capillaries and fine visible vessels.
Assessment
Is Every Type of Pigmentation Suitable for IPL?
No.
Some pigmentation requires a different management strategy, and suspicious or changing lesions should be medically assessed rather than cosmetically treated.
Results
Lumecca for Pigmentation and Sun Damage
Superficial UV-related pigmentation is one of Lumecca’s strongest benefits.
It can be particularly useful where sun exposure has created brown spots, freckles or mottled surface pigmentation.

What to expect
Lumecca for Facial Redness and Visible Capillaries
Lumecca may also be considered for selected superficial vascular redness and fine visible vessels.
Where redness is associated with an underlying chronic condition, the goal is improvement in visible vascular signs rather than claiming to cure the condition itself.
Darkening response
Why Does Pigmentation Look Darker After Lumecca?
Temporary darkening can be part of the expected treatment response.
Suitable pigment may become darker before gradually clearing during the following days. This is why clients need to understand the recovery process before treatment.
Recovery
What Is the Downtime After Lumecca?
Lumecca is generally a lower-downtime treatment. Temporary redness, warmth and mild swelling can occur.
Pigmentation can darken before clearing. Vascular targets can temporarily change colour before fading.
